The trip home was long but easy. I was greeted at the airport by my wife, we went home and i told the kids a bit about the trip. It was FANTASTIC in every possible way. I too feel connected to you and to Italy. I wasn't prepared for how much fun it would be or for how much I'd like being there. It was quite hard to leave you all made me feel so welcome... a prodigal son or sorts or long lost brother.
Occasionally you'll meet someone and yes, it's like you were old friends all along. I certainly feel that way. It's been an honor and my pleasure to be your guest and friend. I'll look forward to seeing you again and to seeing and sharing more of your wonderful country.

Hi!
Now that we finally arrived home and got a chance to rest and let the Nebraska’s War experience sink in, I decided I would jot down a comment or two. Firstly, I must say that we all agreed (my friends and I) that this was the best MTG tournament we’ve ever had the pleasure to participate in (even better than last year’s edition).
The organisers really did an amazing job. From the moment we arrived, everything ran smoothly. The room where we stayed was outstanding, the breakfast delicious and most importantly, the tournaments were managed efficiently and without delays. The artists were really fun to talk to, especially Jeff. It was great meeting new people and it was fun to play magic the whole weekend. And in the end we also took a short detour and visited Pisa on our way home.
In short, the highlights of this weekend were:
+ the location (including a luxurious room, which, in addition, was very cheap)
+ the legacy and especially the vintage main event (friendly opponents and helpful judges; even though sometimes it was difficult to spot the judges since many of them weren’t wearing their usual ‘uniforms’)
+ the fact that you managed to get the artists to come to your event (I loved Shuler and Laubenstein!)
+ many sellers ( = a lot of cards and other things available)
+ pimp cards (I absolutely adore seeing so many sweet cards in one place.)
And in the end a big thumbs-up to Michele and his team for making this happen.
I’m already looking forward to Nebraska’s War 3.0!

piuttosto non andate a un GP, paccate una comunione, il battesimo di vostro figlio, il vostro matrimonio, ma venite e divertitevi, la location è ogni anno più bella.

Although i was a little disappointed with rank 9, it was the best mtg-event i've ever been to (haven't been to a tournament in a long time, but still...). thanks a lot!

Ricevo una telefonata inaspettata di Jeff Laubenstein dicendomi che arriverà in serata a causa di problemi con i voli/bagagli. Verso l’ora di pranzo parto con Ste verso Pisa per andare a prendere Doug e figlia, Brianna che dopo diverse ore di volo decidono di sistemarsi in albergo e poco dopo di andare a mangiarsi un pezzo di pizza, allora chiamiamo Simone Biagioni e ci incontriamo alla Rustichella, la sua pizzeria Contenti per aver mangiato pizza italiana e buona ma allo stesso tempo stanchi per il lungo viaggio Doug e Brianna decidono di rimanere in albergo a riposarsi. Nel frattempo andiamo all’Enoteca Nebraska e fare due chiacchiere, il tempo vola ed è arrivata l’ora di andare a prendere Jeff: io e Ste ritorniamo all’aeroporto di Pisa e aspettiamo fino alle 10:45 Jeff ma delle sue tracce niente, andiamo a vedere in giro per vedere se per caso fosse aperto qualche ufficio dove poter chiedere informazioni ma niente.. mentre siamo lì finalmente mi arriva una sua telefonata per chiedermi dove fossi(mo), un minuto dopo lo raggiungiamo. Fin dai primi minuti passati con lui ci accorgiamo che è uno simpatico e alla mano.. la sera stessa nonostante le circa 23 ore di viaggio decide di venire all’enoteca Nebraska a bere qualcosa. Giovedì mattina è in programma un giro a Pisa, questa volta vado solo con Jeff, Doug e Brianna, mentre Ste e gli altri saranno a sistemare gli ultimi dettagli e andranno verso l’ora di pranzo a prendere Mike Bierek all’aeroporto e lo porteranno a mangiare un po’ di pizza e a fare un giro sul lungomare di Viareggio! Rimasti affascinati e contenti della mattinata trascorsa a Pisa, andiamo all’aeroporto a recuperare la valigia di Jeff (che aveva subito dei ritardi) e ci dirigiamo verso Lucca, dove ci immergiamo nelle viette interne decorate e addobbate all’atmosfera natalizia.. ci gustiamo un gelato (FOTO di Shuler e Brianna a Pisa). Ritorniamo all’hotel prima di cena, dove finalmente incontro anche Mike con il quale faccio due chiacchiere: scoprirò poi che siamo quasi coetanei! Il tempo di lavarci, di aspettare altri ragazzi che erano già arrivati al torneo ci dirigiamo tutti all’Enoteca Nebraska dove ci aspetta un’ottima cena a base di affettati, formaggi, lasagne, torte salate, vino e chi più ne ha più ne metta! ________________________________________________________________________________________ IL TORNEO LA LOCATION Ci siamo.. è venerdì mattina e sta per iniziare il torneo.. Firstly, I must say that we all agreed (my friends and I) that this was the best MTG tournament we’ve ever had the pleasure to participate in (even better than last year’s edition). The organisers really did an amazing job. From the moment we arrived, everything ran smoothly. The room where we stayed was outstanding, the breakfast delicious and most importantly, the tournaments were managed efficiently and without delays. The artists were really fun to talk to, especially Jeff. It was great meeting new people and it was fun to play magic the whole weekend. And in the end we also took a short detour and visited Pisa on our way home. In short, the highlights of this weekend were: + the location (including a luxurious room, which, in addition, was very cheap) + the legacy and especially the vintage main event (friendly opponents and helpful judges; even though sometimes it was difficult to spot the judges since many of them weren’t wearing their usual ‘uniforms’) + the fact that you managed to get the artists to come to your event (I loved Shuler and Laubenstein!) + many sellers ( = a lot of cards and other things available) + pimp cards (I absolutely adore seeing so many sweet cards in one place.) And in the end a big thumbs-up to Michele and his team for making this happen. I’m already looking forward to Nebraska’s War 3.0! Andiamo a mangiare una pizza "da Bruno", dove incontreremo altri giocatori Il lunedì mattina ci concediamo qualche ora di sonno in più, verso le 10:30 abbiamo appuntamento con gli artisti che faranno degli artwork per noi organizzatori, con la supervisione di Palmetta Finiti gli artwork mangiamo al Mc qualcosa di veloce e partiamo verso Riomaggiore, la prima delle 5 Terre (http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cinque_Terre), ci fermiamo anche a fare qualche foto dall'alto di Spezia: Poco dopo arriviamo a destinazione che è quasi buio: Verso l'ora di cena ritorniamo alla Spezia e decidiamo mangiare i panigacci (acqua, farina e sale che, mescolati, formano una pastella che verrà cotta nei testi di terracotta) mangiati assieme a salumi e formaggi! Martedì ci aspetta un'intera giornata a Firenze: Ritorniamo in albergo poco prima dell'ora di cena, Doug e Brianna decidono di rimanere lì a riposarsi, mentre noi andiamo al Nebraska per mangiare qualcosa abbastanza velocemente e far salutare tutti agli artisti.
